A diretora do Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF), Luísa Maia Gonçalves, apresentou hoje a sua demissão, na sequência de uma reunião solicitada pela ministra da Administração Interna com a intenção de a exonerar, anunciou o Governo.

A notícia avançada pelo semanário Expresso, ao início da noite, dava conta da demissão da diretora pela ministra pelo “o incumprimento dos objetivos da tutela”. Por volta das 21h00, o Ministério emitiu um comunicado, citado pela agência Lusa, que diz que, afinal foi Luísa Maia Gonçalves que se demitiu.
“A ministra da Administração Interna, Constança Urbano de Sousa, convocou hoje, dia 04 de outubro, a diretora nacional do Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF), Luísa Maia Gonçalves, para uma reunião com o propósito de lhe comunicar a sua intenção de a exonerar, tendo Luísa Maia Gonçalves apresentado a sua demissão”, segundo um comunicado hoje divulgado pelo Ministério da Administração Interna.
Luísa Maia Gonçalves foi nomeada como diretora nacional do SEF, em substituição de António Beça Pereira, que apresentou a demissão, em janeiro de 2016.
Licenciada em Direito pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa, Luísa Maia Gonçalves é inspetora coordenadora superior da carreira de investigação e fiscalização do Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras, onde ingressou em 1990. Foi responsável pelo Gabinete de Relações Internacionais e de Cooperação do SEF e pela Direção Central de Investigação, Pesquisa Análise e Informação do SEF.
Luísa Maia Gonçalves ocupou vários cargos dirigentes em diferentes organismos da Administração Pública e foi adjunta do secretário do Estado para os Assuntos Europeus e assessora do Coordenador Nacional para os Assuntos da Livre Circulação de Pessoas de Schengen.
António Beça Pereira tomou posse como diretor do SEF a 9 de janeiro de 2015, substituindo Manuel Jarmela Palos, que foi detido e constituído arguido no âmbito do caso dos vistos 'gold'.
